Romulo expresses personal grief over 'Ka Turing' death

Executive Secretary Alberto G. Romulo, in a press statement, today expressed his personal grief over the death of former Senator Arturo Tolentino, who he considered as a personal friend having worked closely with him in the Senate from 1992 to 1995.

Romulo’s statement in full:

"I was the majority leader during the term of the late Senator Tolentino and I recall always seeking his advice on parliamentary rules and procedures because he was considered the sage of the Senate.

"His bereaved family is assured that Arturo Tolentino has now achieved immortality. Our people shall remember him with reverence and affection. After all, his record as a legislator and constitutionalist is perfection personified.

"The challenge remains for our legislators to live up to the intellectual standards set by the humble ‘Ka Turing’ who despite his genius, was a voracious reader and assiduous student of both history and current affairs."
